Each smartphone donation brings our female entrepreneurs a step closer to leasing one for their business from our local partner. Choose the ones you wish to support today.
We are moving towards a world, where individuals have a possibility to create big changes. Technology enables global connections and brings enormous amounts of possibilities for creating impact, even from your own couch. Smartphones4good by Aion Sigma offers an opportunity to help and make an impact in a concrete way. Donating a phone will create a better tomorrow for the African entrepreneurs.
Thank you, Smartphones4Good! Empowering women is probably the best thing I could do with my old smartphone!
We hated that our old phones were laying around for so long in our drawers, so when we found out about Smartphones4Good, we sure knew what to do!
Can't think of a better idea for recycling my phone. I mean, sure, you can send it back to iStore or something, but would it feel the same? I doubt that!
We accept all kinds of smartphones. Most demand is for phones less than 5 year old. Some phones older than that still have use value and we will give each a consideration.
Yes, you can. We will find what is wrong and try to fix it before it goes on sale.
Of course. Please fill out the same form, so we record your contact details and send you the details for making the donation through our partner. This will be open in July through our partnership with We Encourage.
Once the entrepreneur is 100% funded, we issue her a smartphone along with a leasing contract through our local partnering distributor. The entrepreneur activates the new smartphone and we give her contact details to you and her other funders, for you to stay in touch with her if you wish.
Better to direct it to recycling. You can contact us and we will inform how to best do this.
This is a great question! We care about our donors’ privacy and we perform a rigorous assessment of the phone before selling it on our e-shop. We wipe out all the information on the phone. Once this process is completed, we assess the status of the phone. We assign “grades” to determine if it’s best sold or sent to our entrepreneurs.
We are organized by Aion Sigma, a business for good. We have worked on financial access to smartphones in Africa for almost 4 years. We have seen that giving away phones is not empowering and leads to profiteering. Therefore we provide the phones with fair finance terms – the entrepreneurs will also earn a positive credit history.
